The Bread Of Life Ministry Inc., a food and clothing bank and pantry, are thanking you for making this another successful benefit weekend this year!

Our 12th annual benefit weekend was spectacular this year!  We appreciate you  in helping others less fortunate.

Our events start on Friday, September 12, 2025; with a Celebrity Waiter VIP dinner, show and silent auction at North Friendship General Baptist Church in Lynnville, Indiana with  The Chuck Wagon Gang and Sunshine Ministry, was fantastic!  You filled the worship center, and we were blessed by almost 150 people turning out a community to support over 50 years of service with the Bread of Life Ministry, Inc.

Saturday September 13, 2025 was incredible with 18 golf teams playing for a great cause with opening prayer and the National Anthem sang by Nashville recording artist and writer J Edwards.  Thanks also to Country Artist, David Ball, for playing golf and keeping everyone laughing throughout the day!  Everyone had a great time, and we had several counties and States involved either helping as volunteers or participating in our scramble at the lovely Boonville Country Club.

Sunday September 14, 2025, was a full day of worship and fun!  All events for Sunday were held at the Museum of Coal Industry in Lynnville, Indiana.   Proceeds for that day benefit the Bread of Life Ministry, Inc and the Museum of the Coal Industry, in Lynnville, Indiana.  We were so thankful that the communities came out and joined together for a great time of worship this year for the Gathering Place Christian Church band and choir and then receiving the message by Bishop Jimmy Tyson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  We were overjoyed to see 155 people in service that day!

Car Cruise in – Show -  We are growing every year, and thanks to all of you for driving such long distances to participate!  Thanks to June Woods for pulling this together each year, and David Ball for giving away a 67’ model corvette autographed to one of the winners.

Thank you:.  To the Museum of the Coal Industry team, including AJ, Erlene and Sunshine Mason for a wonderful lunch available to all!

Our Country Concert was also a success with the privilege to have Country Artists and writers, J Edwards,  David Ball, Diamond Farnsworth and the Red Ridge Rider Band from Nashville, TN and Diamond Farnsworth from California with us for the whole weekend this year!

We could not have done this without a team effort from our volunteers, our donors, supporters, entertainers, and YOU the community that shared your love with us!  God Bless you all!

In Memory....

Sunday, December 15, 2024 our friend, relative and co- worker of the Bread of Life Ministry, Inc went to be with Jesus.

My first memories of my brother Mark Mason were in Spurgeon, Indiana. Dad was preaching at the local Baptist Church and we met his family. He had a large family and his mother, Edith, was like my second mom. She could cook, can, grow a garden, actually there wasn't much she could do. We went to all their family fish fry's and cook outs.
Mark and my brother were the same age, and a lot of us kids in that town ran around together. The Heacock kids, the Richie Boys, the Potters, the Mortons, and so many others. My mom and dad adopted Mark like so many others, and the things we got into! Mom tied sheets together and attached them to our beds so if the parsonage caught on fire we could jump out the top windows. Mark and Tim decided one day to have a fire drill and broke Tim's bed! Shirley was not happy.
Mom used to take us all to the Evansville Museum and the Shrine Circus. One trip to the museum, mom saw a statue of a Naked man and said, "hum.....that call it art".....mark quickly replied, "mom.....how do your know what his name is!" He always had a quick sense of humor.
We had a great youth group and wonderful teachers that taught us the bible. Debbie and Shiela Julian and Nevelan Teague were just a few. We had Rock a Thon's to raise money to attend Camp Windermere in the Ozarks and that is where Lorrie Carlisle Higgs flew in her first helicopter as a small child. She still hates flying!
Mark made us laugh and was always the hit of any get-together! Mark was always in love with a girl on the bus named Judy. She had long hair and lived in the area. It was my honor, almost 4 years ago December, to marry them. Judy was always part of the Spurgeon community as well.
I could tell you so many stories, but his legacy speaks for itself. I will miss you my brother, but I rejoice in the fact I will see you again. I hope you keep your mom and dad and my mom and dad straight till I get there.

With Love,
Sherry Carlisle Smith and the Bread of Life Ministry, Inc family and board members.
